1961-D FRANKLIN NGC MS 66
Essentially every "D" mint Franklin is extremely rare in MS 66 condition. Ten out of the fourteen Denver mint Franklins certified by NGC in MS 66 condition have a population of 20 coins or less. NGC has only certified 20 examples in MS 66 and there is only one example graded higher in MS 67. Finding an example in MS 66 condition is extremely rare. Bag marks are usually the culprit keeping these examples out of high grade territory.
This example we are offering is absolutely incredible! The central portion of the obverse is brilliant showcasing Franklin's extremely clean cheek, and then swirls into rings of sunburst-orange, fiery-red and teal hues. The reverse is smothered with the exact same colors the obverse offers. The luster is extremely strong making the color bounce off the surfaces. The strike is superb and the surfaces are extremely clean.
